How much rice do you eat??

there is a dispute within the kaibigans...of how much rice we eat...it started when we were trying to decide how much rice to bring for our Aussie break Away...(yes we are poor that we have to cook our own meals)

ignore the beras pulut...the pack we plan to bring are the 1kg rice packets....so we wanted to know how much rice should we bring for a 10 days self cater trip....with 6 Dugongs (eh ada juga ikan bilis ikut...mereka yg kurus..dan yg menafi mereka  byk makan nasi)..

so our engineer was saying 1kg is almost equavalent to 8 put/kong/cups or watever you call this little cup..

 these are cups that comes with the ricecooker....i bet we all have different names for it......i think i learn to cook with this cup when i had my own house...with the rice cooker my mom gave...cos it came with a cup...
at home we had this stainless steel tin...the susu cap junjung tin....like these ones..

we call it kong...!and please be reminded this kong is 2 cups..rice cooker cups....i remembered one time when i was in primary 6...my mom shouted from the garden to ask me to cook porridge...and i shouted back from the kitchen to ask her how many cups....i said CUPS...so she said 2....but actually in the rice bin (we use  to use baldi back then...was this "kong". so i cook 2 kong....back then my late grandfather was with us...so during dinner he asked my mom "i tot you said you cook porridge...?"- we had  rice that evening...hehee..!as i put 2 kong of rice in a small pot with the same amount of water and you got rice instead of porridge....(my mom tot i was using the small cup measurement...!"

back to the argument....some of us were saying 1 kong/put/pot/cup will be able to feed 4 person or even the whole group the 6 of us...and some say  1 kong/put/pot/cup is so little rice..this 2 days i did an experiment...with the bro and me..i cook with 1 cup...and we had plenty until i couldn't stand up..!! the bro was complainning of his mountain like rice in his plate...!but if i cook something that was our favourite the rice was just enough...

so well...please help do maths and say how many kilos of rice should we bring...!! :P

the Durian adventure..!

back from a wild and adventures long weekend....got to admit tiring but fun...bloated too...but all i can say is i had a balance weekend...:P

started with exercising...(wanted to go to gym but it was close due to public holiday on friday....) oh well then went for a walk in the park in putra-jaya...then had wantan mee with woly.. we decided to just go to ikea for window shopping...proud of myself cos i didn't buy anything hehee...it's hard to part with money this days...hard earned money :P....then evening i had a wild adventure ridding the tren..phew i tell you i respect those who takes the train everyday...!! it was packed like sardin and i was like sweating like crazyyyyy..!! i vowed never to take the tren ever after this...!! DANG..! i took the tren from UKm to midvalley...!! to meet up with the rest cos we had a Durian appointment with this little guy...!

muka sudah kenyang makan durian..!! juvi macam mo nangis sudah...

durian was away to balas dendam Raub tia jadi...but it was great...paying RM15 for buffet...then the endless flow of durian...now we know..one cannot eat so much durian...hehehe...!!but anyway i think i wud go back to that place and eat...bah abi kalau mo p ...call jak k..!! i am always on hehehe... 

the next day 4am had to send my bro to airport..saja tunjuk tshirt i bought for him from hcmc...fitting pulak hehe..tapi rasa he looks cool in it...:P

then we 3 stooges went on a journey to the highlands hehee...despite a bloated tummy and lack of sleep...i survive the winding drive up the hills...!

ni lah hasil2 nya hahaha...sayur2 murah..buah buahan pun murah...so apa lagi beli lah...

the whole way down ada org berangan kalau durian jatuh di tepi jalan hehehe...!! macam jakun saja we all tengok durian on the tree...fun juga lah..jalan2 lepas tu stop lepas tu semacam menginterview org asli di tepi jalan ehehehe...the day before macam cakap tidak mau makan durian already tapi stop juga makan sebab damn cheap..! sedap lagi tu...!!

we settle back home safely with food (standed lah kan) went to puchong to eat and yang lucu mencari tempat makan dengan menghidu aroma makanan...!!

Sunday..bah apa lagi operasi lah...(did i tell you we bought petai too..?)because it was cheap so beli lah ehhee..typical !!...have yet to buy prawns so i can make sambal prawn with petai...yummy!!

all work and no play make Jane a dull girl..sambil kopak petai mesti lah kopak rambutan juga...!! by the way..rambutan was RM1 1kg...aduh...!!

well..apart from all the stories...i spend my sunday sleeping....and of course food in between ehhee...4.30pm drag myself to wake up and mandi :P...then went out to visit Puan and encik then we went jusco...!!phew..mana tidak rasa macam hang over...!

kesimpulan..!:

1. One cannot eat and is not possible to eat lots and lots of durian..

2.it's fun to have a spontenuos ride to see the greens...

3.tiring is worth while...!!

LETS DO IT AGAIN ONE DAY..!!

yeah i know i know the title of this blog sounds unreal....

today was one of those days that i really don't get what this world is to me....like everything seems so unfair,so not what i wanted...from the most complicated thing to the simplest things....maybe blame it on PMS...

i remember i had the same feeling 2 weekend ago when i was down in the lion city....i had a feelin of really missing travelling and missing time spending with friends......2 weeks berturut2 without rest makes one miserable i need a breaky...but i am dry..so i really need to just endure this feelin...

oh well i am lucky compare to more then 1,111,111 people in this world definately...!so well jane..ur life wud seem to be perfect to others...others envy you...so just enjoy what you have..!k...enjoy...

Shoot in JB....

last weekend i and a friend (diyana) went to JB for a wedding shoot...got to admit it was my first serious shoot....we left kajang at 9pm and arrive in JB at 12 midnite....( i kinda think it's a crazy thing to do) thank God we arrive in one piece.....i stayed at diyana's nenek's house....was fun as the first time meeting the family was like...soalan standed bertubi2....dah kahwin belum?....bila nak kahwin? dah ada belum ? aduiiiiiiiiii......all i did was just smile....!!

k back to the shoot...

the akad nikah was in the masjid....so i had to wear the scarf thingy....it was bad enuff wearing baju kurung....have to try to jungle my camera with the scarf too...phew glad the whole thing was offer in a ziff...everything was so fast...actually too fast until i miss the "aku terima nikah..." part....!! but the groom said it was ok cos actually the improvise things cos needed to go for friday prayer.....

after the akad nikah we headed down to spore....i tell you during the whole trip i was thinking, litterally missing my kabigans....!

i really think spore is one of a good distination for us to explore.....! kamon guys...bila lagi...jauh2 sudah p..dekat2 takkan kasi delay....!!
the next day we had the bersanding...phew... now i know why people charge damn expensive when it comes to taking peoples photo..it's real hard work....

but of all had a new experience and fun....!!!k lazy sudah mo write....tata

TIPS for saigon

I saw that people have been searching saigon and got my blog...i didn't really finish the saigon post...but well if you ask me i will say everyone has different encounter in saigon...we had a marvelouse time...got to admit that the reviews about saigon that we read before going did no justice to the place......it's a wonderful place and people were all great....

my 5 tips of saigon are :
1.Money: Dong and USD are accepted....
2.Hotel: there lots of hotels around...You get what you pay....you can even bargain to get a good rate....we only did booking for the first day...backpackers budget- Pham Ngu Lau street..please make sure you write the address and name of your hotel..cos they pronounce it diffrently...
3.Taxi : we only use vinasun as many guide book and review on people's blog.search for a dark green shirt with red tie guy...From the airport to ur hotel please take vinasun..it will cost you about 100,000dong if not like us we paid USD10..!!!.just walk out the airport and search for dark green shirt men who work for vinasun.
4.Buying stuff: PLEASE BARGAIN...!! i kinda think Ben thanh market is a rippoff...we bought cheaper souveniers at the post office and at a souviner shop near our hotel...

5.Food : most places have menu...as for halal food..there are plenty of palce to choose from..but do pack ur own food if you're on tour...

Saigon Day 3

3rd day...we decided to go Historical...on foot...under a dry and hot weather...harus di ingati kami org2 yg jarang bersenam...
folowing a guide yg memang sendiri tidak tau apa...tetap berjalan...! thank God for wifi..i use this http://www.vietnam720.com/ as a guide..his blog was great as a guide in saigon...we walk and walk ...we pass some art galery...paintings were awesome...we came to this...!

One thing facinated us was walking on the Saigon streets....!! we were like "kebal"..just walk accross the streets and the motorbike wud just give way or "elak" you...!!

after a long walk around. we actually did go to the reunification Building and War Museum but it was close for lunch...!! so we decided to walk and look for something else....then we saw JOLLYBEE...!! yeah...teringat masa manila...! tapi jollybee kat saigon total failure....!(sorry was so hungry didn't take any photo...)jollybee was more important then those historical building hehehe...!!

mlm itu ada org APC di paksa untuk belanja kami makan...!! lumayan segala Dinner was 700,000 Dong....wakakakakka pucat itu org mau bayar hehehehe...!!arigato gozaimas...!! no pictures of prove because everybody lapar....!!

Saigon Day 2 (part mlm)

After freshening up....(i left out the part we were all soak wet at the chu chi tunnel...bukan kerana peluh k...but it was rainning heavily when we got out...)sekali lagi kedegilan terpancar...we read we had to be ready fir sudden downpour...! tp kemalasan pancho tinggal aja di hotel...

so we had our first adventure on foot....Ti recommended we go to a "pho shop" down then corner..it was not really the next corner...we at to walk about 3 blocks away....that was the first encounter with vietnam pho bo...(Fur ber). there we met popong's new love...si Dong Deng...(i don't know his name..)but kalau tengok muka dia mesti ingat Dong Deng...he was like a teacher teaching his student how to pronounce vietnamese but student tia pandai2...oh ya we did order beef stew noople...! tang mana noople i don't wanna know hehehe...

So lepas PHO...we went to Ben Than night market again...(we went the first nite)...we had a good work out walking in saigon...!! (patut lah perlu stamina hehehe) but kira dahsyat lah... this time melencong ikut jalan lain...then we came to this icecream shop...(standed lah every 30 minit mesti refill...)

 we had this... ala2 fondue..14 flavours icecream balls...with waffels..and fruits...deeping in melted choc...not mistaken it cost us 70,000 Dong...(100,000 dong is RM19)...antara flavour yg tidak pernah cuba is  choc chili..!durian was overpowering...

desert pun sudah...k terus maju ke ben than...it's kinda like pasar malam...or petaling street but smaller version..people were friendlier too....we met some malaysian there...sarawakin lah to be exact...tetiba ada perasaan happy jumpa org kampung hehehe...the ben than nite market had lots bajus,souveniers...rokoks..."biasssss".. place to makan...seafood!!..erm...FRUITS..!! i think this time we really ate lot's of fruits...sudah lah byk exercise mkn fruits lagi..wah ain't we all health concious...mangkali lah..!

after working round...my gurlfrens decided to buat dress sedondon...mo p wedding org katanya...!!so upacara sukat menyukat berlangsung..

dan terdapat satu mamat yang mengolok saja...tapi apa lah kami peduli sama ko fread.bah tau sudah the measurement sila lah hadiah kan dress2 pada mereka k..!

 

dress will be ready the next day...!!fuh dahsyat lah tailoring...one day...i think one dress cost 250,000 dong..(RM60++) (yeah yeah aku akui...aku menyesal tidak membuat satu pasang utk diri sendiri sekarang)

 

after beli membeli ...we came to this stall...colourfull glutionous rice...nasi pulut lah tu...flavour berbeza2..but to me sama saja rasa dia just that the coconut milk on top yang bagi taste...hehee...

 

ala lupa pulak..but i don't have pics of the mango a.k.a ciku...! kononnya mau beli mango balik hotel mau makan sekali sampai hotel bukan mango la...CIKU...!!! tapi it was really2 big...!!

lepas tu jalan balik hotel...malam itu 2 tongkang berlayar di temankan satu lagi enjin yg tidak dpt start...!! GUDNITE SAIGON..

Saigon Day 2 - You know whats a virgin??

DAY 2

 tongkang pun berlabuh...we were all pump up and ready to face the city...

mandi siap2 smua and turun bawah makan breakfast...this was the menu...

everyday breakfast was prepared for us....Bread and BUTTET....fruit water of the day was pineapple juice...

this is what we ate....hmm actually the presentation was better....ini gaya org mau cepat and praktikal....(hari itu ada org lapar cos makan secara berstyle then no time to finish it...)

memang rasa homey ini tempat...just like being at a friend's home.

we were enjoying breakfast when tiba2...ada uncle marah..!! felt like being scolded by ur friend's dad... yeah...we were late...we were suppose to be on the bus at 8am it was 8.10...

By the way...thanks to our group tour managers ...ms togs and Mr Frds... we went on a tour to the Chu chi tunnel (pronounce Ku Chi) and Cao Dai temple... via hotel arrangement...we paid USD 7 per person...it was a 3 hours bus ride..near the Cambodian border....

we were introduce to the wild traffic in saigon.... i have never encounter so many motorbikes at one time..!!

First destination was the art factory by the war victims...

we arrived at the 2nd destination...the Cao Dai Temple...The Cao Dai (pronounce cow dye) is one of the most prominant religion in the country...it is a mix between christianity, Budhisme and ......(aduh aku lupa lah the other one...)

we had a new perspective of religion of this trip...with the introduction of the coconut religion too...wah..senang mau buat agama sendiri kan...!! hmm i am thinking of making my own religion too after this :P i have the plan already...

after the temple we went to a makan place...standed lah aktiviti wajib utk group ini....fud was ok...and quite cheap too...dah chan was great..(ice lemon juice).

after lunch we when to chu chi tunnel...this was the thing that got us all exercising before the trip...takut malu tidak muat hehehe...

our guide...don't you think he looks cute... i love his qoute....you get what you pay....!! we paid a low fare so we got a not handsome and "mulnutritious"???? guide he said...! inspirasi utk menjadi tour guide...when telling jokes in a language not your mother tongue put on a straight face...!! ( the topic of this post ada kaitan sama joke itu uncle..)

we were told the tunnels where renovated 2 times to make it bigger...hmm...bayangkan the original size lah...

tadaaaaaaa.....aku muat lah...!!!(i tell you this was wide...heheeh.e..after this we didn't have photoes because it became smaller.. some places were pitch dark...)

we arrived back in the city around 6pm...it was the rush hour for working people in HCMC

we were wet and tired...so we walk back to our hotel(the bus stop us at the tour agency office)...surprisingly saigon was a cool place to just stroll the street...day or nite...so apa yang we read all this while mungkin hanya mitos..but don't know lah..we don't look like a bunch of people that have money thou...! muka pun macam budak2....pakaian pun entah apa2...that's why kot..!
